Junior Achievement of WNY Announces New President

(Williamsville, NY) – The Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Western New York (JAWNY) is pleased to announce the appointment of John Crawford as President & CEO, effective June 15, 2022.

John’s career has been dedicated to the wellbeing of the entire Western New York Community through leadership in not-for-profit marketing and communications, fundraising, constituent relations, and program development. Most recently, John served as Operations Director at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Buffalo providing life changing services to those most in need as well as Vice President of College Relations at Medaille College advancing the institution’s position and impact in the region. John has shown extraordinary commitment to JAWNY for the past six years as both a board member and board chair helping to make community connections for improved administration, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment.

“JA of Western New York has had huge successes partnering with area businesses and the education community to help provide young people a head start for fulfilling careers and contributions to their community,” said Crawford. “I am privileged to lead and advance the good will and talent of a tremendous JA team with a great history of achievement.”

A United States Army veteran and lifelong resident of Western New York, John received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Service and International Politics from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science Degree in Public Affairs Studies from the University at Buffalo.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in kindergarten through 12th grade about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career & work readiness through experiential, hands-on programs. In the 2020-2021 school year, Junior Achievement of WNY enriched the lives of 9,469 students in 139 schools and community organizations throughout the eight counties of Western New York.
