Junior Achievement Learning Experiences support Boundless Possibilities for Chautauqua County students

(Amherst, NY) – At Junior Achievement, we believe in “possible.” Each day, we work to help young people discover what’s possible in their lives. We do this by helping them connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom. We let them know it’s possible to invest in their future, to gain a better understanding of how the world works, and to pursue their dreams. We show them that it’s possible for tomorrow to be a better day.

Currently, JA Learning Experiences in Chautauqua County are delivered to students in: Falconer, Fredonia, Frewsburg, Jamestown, Sherman, and Westfield school districts, as well as infused into P-Tech program delivery. In order to engage area students, funding and volunteer support is critical. Generous funding support is provided by: Blackstone Advanced Technologies LLC, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, The Cummins Foundation, Holmberg Foundation, The Lenna Foundation, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, The Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation, and United Way of Southern Chautauqua County. Organizations supporting volunteers in the classrooms are: Chautauqua Striders, Courier Capital LLC, Falconer Printing & Design, Falconer Rotary Club, Lake Shore Savings Bank, M&T Bank, Media One Radio Group, Merrill Lynch, Monofrax LLC, Peace Wesleyan Church, The Resource Center, Support Enterprises Inc., Weinberg Financial Group, YWCA Jamestown, and YWCA Westfield, as well as individual community volunteers.

“Junior Achievement of Western New York is eager to grow our strategic partnerships in Chautauqua County. The level of support, creativity, goodwill, and commitment to our young people within Chautauqua County is very important for student engagement,” says John Crawford, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of WNY.

Junior Achievement’s proven programs are shown to inspire and prepare young people for success. Our approach is demonstrated to give students the tools they need to increase their chances of achieving their potential in work, career, and life.  In a 2022 Ipsos survey of JA Alumni, data proves: 80 percent of JA Alumni say their careers are “extremely fulfilling,” 56 percent of JA Alumni who had a JA volunteer say they currently work or have in the past worked in the same field as their JA volunteer, 54 percent of JA Alumni say Junior Achievement positively influenced their work ethic, 46 percent of JA Alumni say Junior Achievement positively influenced their career choices.  Additionally, 4-in-5 JA Alumni credit Junior Achievement for: Influencing their decisions about further education, impacting their professional and personal development, affecting their self-confidence and belief-in-self, and motivating them to succeed professionally.
